My name is Angie Villamar.
I was diagnosed with breast carcinoma in October 2008. I underwent four cycles of chemotherapy before and after my surgery. Within that period of nine monthsw of treatment, although my WBC (White Blood Cells) counts were down in every after treatment, I never really got sick at all probably because I tried my best to eat well. Currently from time to time I still have that bitter or metallic taste in my mouth when I eat certain foods. Sopmetimes when I am exposed to the Houston sun and heat, I feel that pricking pains on my skin but suprisingly was not the case when I was in the Philippines last summer. Presently, I am taking Arimidex now and will be taking it for the next four years. I think that this medication makes my skin feel rough on certain hours of the day but then it subsides later on. Now, I also have pains in my fingers, toes, hands and legs but they are tolerable. I hope and pray to GOD that everything will eventually get back to normal. I just have to accept all this and live with these for a while until I am off my medication. I thank God everyday that I am alive today! Miracles happen and am looking forward to my retirement soon and enjoying life.
