Welcome "Googlers", browsers, families, friends, colleagues, caregivers, cancer survivors and other interested parties especially Filipino-Americans who may be interested to know that we have a cancer support group here in Metropolitan Houston, Texas.
We are here for our community members who in one way or another are affected by cancer. Whether you are a cancer survivor , related to someone with cancer, taking care of a cancer patient or someone who is interested to know about cancer, we are here for you. If you would like to learn more on how to start a similar cancer support group somewhere else, please contact us.
We are a group of professionals, mostly experienced Registered Nurses and several of us are Oncology Nurses or Advanced Practice Nurses, and other paramedical disciplines got together in 2008 to form this much needed cancer support orginization for Filipino-Americans. We are under the tutelage of the American Cancer Society and the Asian Cancer Council. We also collaborate with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in public education and health fairs.
We are a non-profit orginization (501c3) and therefore all donations are tax deductible.
We provide information for our cancer patients and their families/caregivers with regards to navigation for referals to MD Anderson Cancer Center, transportation, cancer education, community resources, support, etc.
We also provide very important links related to cancer like education and general information on specific cancer sites, clinical trials and caregiver support. Please follow the links and you will be guided to your specific site of choice.
